Honestly - 2019 has been, for me, a year of LEARNING. I’ve been going real deep this year with books, documentaries, podcasts, you name it. And everyday I’m more and more curious to learn even more. I’d love to make a huge list of all the things I’ve been learning about so I can share ‘em with you, but for now, I want to recommend ONE thing: There is such a huge wealth of knowledge from educators, activists, scientists, thought leaders, and just straight out regular people on this platform. Chances are you’ve already seen a few TED talks in your lifetime, but I thought I’d share this with you anyway :) Signing up for a TED account has been amazing - you select what kind of content you’re interested in, and once a week, you receive an email with content curated to your specific interests. Here are some of my favorite talks I’ve seen this year: Joseph Gordon-Levitt - How craving attention makes you less creative I love seeing a celebrity recognize his vanity/attention seeking and share food for thought in this social media age Celeste Headlee - 10 ways to have a better conversation I’ve been on a journey to being a better listener and this talk has really helped as a starting point Brené Brown - The power of vulnerability Brené Brown gave this talk almost 10 years ago and I keep coming back to it. It should be required for every human to watch this pls and thanks BJ Miller - What really matters at the end of life OOF. This talk made me sob and gave me such deep perspective and gratitude. Do yourself a favor and watch it! Katie Hood - The difference between healthy and unhealthy love Healthy relationships take time, awareness and practice. If you’re in a relationship, you should definitely watch it. If you’re not… you should still watch it :D
